Time ceased its existence. Piotr Lemański was conjuring up the consecutive musical fabrics and stained glass windows out
of his instrument. The Christmas carols lost nothing of their Polish character and gained a new feature of the present
thanks to the jazz timing and harmony. Each Christmas carol was prepared in a different manner; each contained a well-thought-out
arrangement idea. It proves Lemański’s broad knowledge about the musical instrument as well as the arranger’s sensitivity.
Lemański’s playing manner is visually so obvious and natural that it seems very easy – but you couldn’t be further from the truth.
The guitarist led the themes normally using single notes and, simultaneously, densely intertwined accords, picking those whose bass
root imitated the sound of double bass or bass guitar. It is difficult to describe the things one needs to hear and experience.
